NIGERIA: KADUNA STATE WOMEN RECEIVE SKILL ACQUISITION TRAINING

As part of efforts towards creating a means of livelihood for women and bridging gender gaps, the non-governmental organization in Kaduna Nigeria, in partnership with the African Women Development Fund (AWDF) and Global Fund for Women (GFW) have provided working tools to the women to encourage their new acquired skills.

The women within the age bracket of 18-35, were empowered with skills such as bead making, tailoring, shoe and bag making and catering.

They also received tools such as sewing machines, pressing iron, weaving machine, threads, zips, shoe filing machine, shoe frames, different kinds of beads and its accessories, oven and baking pans for the respective skills they acquired.

The programme which began late last year is believed to have contributed greatly to the overall women empowerment and financial independent plan in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
