Russia, Sudan Sign Agreement on Nuclear Power Use

Russia and Sudan have recently signed a memorandum of understanding stating areas of cooperation on the use of nuclear power for peaceful activities. The agreement was signed Monday in Moscow yesterday.

In attendance were Engineer Yousif Hamza, the State Minister at the Ministry of Water Resources, Irrigation and Electricity, and the General Director of the Russian Nuclear Power Agency.

According to Engineer Yousif, based on the agreement Sudan will begin to access multiple applications of the peaceful uses of nuclear power in several vital fields.

Conversely, the minister also said that execution of this agenda will warrant the signing of an agreement between the Russian and Sudanese at the end of this year for the peaceful use of atomic power.
