ALO Sustainability

We are signatures to the UN Global Compact, using business as a force for good, and mobilizing a coalition of African leaders to commit to actions that drive Sustainable development on the continent. We are primarily committed to helping in addressing SDG Goals 1 and 4 in Africa, with components of Goals 5, 9 and 13 – helping to eradicate extreme poverty and access to quality education, using climate action, gender equality and innovative entrepreneurship as our tools.

Our strategic investments and contributions are therefore in the following areas:

01.

Education support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Africa

02.

Annual Tree planting exercise as part of our climate action and Environmental protection

03.

Youth Leadership & Entrepreneurship Development

04.

Women
Empowerment programs

We drive our ESG agenda through two key vehicles, viz, the Centre for Economic & Leadership Development (CELD), an NGO in special consultative status with the UN ECOSOC since June 2012 and funded primarily by a percentage of our corporate profits; and the African Leadership Council (ALC), a pan-African leaders’ network for development and coalition against extreme poverty
