Alhaji (Dr.) BAMANGA TUKUR – Chair Emeritus

Once described as the Business Face of Africa, Alhaji (Dr.) Bamanga Tukur is a leading international business leader and Nigerian Elder Statesman. As the immediate past president of African Business Roundtable, ABR, an organization
formed by the African Union to mobilize the private sector in driving African
development, Dr. Tukur has been a fixed face at the African Union (AU) meetings of Heads of State, where he preaches the continent’s economic integration. He also advises and enjoys very warm relationship with several African presidents – providing trade and business advisory.

The pioneer chairman of the African Leadership magazine’s International Advisory Board, Dr. Tukur is also the life patron of African Business Roundtable and Chair of NEPAD Business Group. He had previously served as the National Chairman of the then ruling party in Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party; PDP; 2012-2014; Minister of Industry and member Federal Executive Council, 1993-1995; Governor of the defunct Gongola State(Now Adamawa State) – 1983; Chief Executive of the Nigerian Ports Authority between 1975 to 1982. Dr. Tukur is also the Honorary Life President of the west and central Africa Ports Management Association, and a member of various Chambers of Commerce in Nigeria. He is also a member of the UNIDO International Business Advisory Council, the Ghana Investors Advisory Council, and the OECD Africa Investment Advisory Board.
